HypeScore — Turn Your Energy Into a Number

URL: https://hypescore.jasonwang.us
Stack: React, MediaPipe pose detection, WebAssembly, Web Workers

What It Is

HypeScore is a real-time hype meter. You turn on your webcam, move around, and it gives you a score based on your energy and movement.

It’s not a fitness tracker. It’s not counting steps or calories. It’s measuring hype — how much energy you’re putting into the moment.

What It Does

  • Reads your movement through your webcam using pose detection and optical flow
  • Scores your energy in real time with a live hype gauge
  • Shows signal analysis — rhythm, energy, and density telemetry as you move
  • Switches between FFT and CWT signal engines for different analysis styles
  • Has a Zen mode with six visual styles that react to your movement
  • Works with video files too — upload a recording and score it retroactively

How It Works

You open the page, grant camera access, and start moving. The app processes your webcam feed through MediaPipe pose detection and optical flow to measure motion. A signal engine (your choice of FFT or Continuous Wavelet Transform) turns that motion into a live hype score.

The score updates every frame. Dance, jump, gesture, or just wave your arms — watch the number go up.

When you want to zone out, hit Zen mode and pick from six visual styles that pulse and shift with your energy.
